Activities
Information security incident results from situations where the accessibility, integrity or confidentiality of the data in the information system or the system itself is modified in unauthorised manner.
Computer security incident response teams (CSIRTs) prevent, monitor and solve information security incidents and disseminate information on information security threats. Several CSIRT organisations exist all over the world. CSIRTs cooperate with each other and exchange information on information security threats and related matters.
At Finnish Communications Regulatory Authority, the unit responseible of handling information security incidents is called CERT-FI. CERT-FI cooperates with national and international CSIRTs and representatives of trade and industry as well as public administration. Major customers of CERT-FI include telecommunications providers and critical infrastructure providers. CERT-FI provides mostly information awareness services for private citizens.
